Related Reading > The Correct Tai Chi Wrist Move
Maybe you've already known that when you practice the tai chi sequence, you need to relax the whole body including the hands. No question here but, new taichinese always misunderstand the meaning of relaxation which tells by there wrists.
The wrong move of the wrist
This movemont of the wrist is NOT right. As you can see that each time when the wrist moves the palm from one side to the other, it almost becomes a right-angle which is kind of a TABOO in tai chi chuan. Because when you move the palm too much, your wrist goes to be tight for sure and once the wrist is tight, the whole arm loses its flexibility.
The right move of the wrist
This is the RIGHT movement of the wrist. Distinct from the movemont above, the right move is much more natural and what you all see are small archs from the back of the hand to the forearm but not a right-angle. This is crucial for your practice because if you can't control your wrist well then your movement could be tai-chi-less which means " hard-shelled, stiff, and uneasy ".
